This week at IMS, our chapels offered a variety of events and themes.
Monday’s chapel was an extended assembly time for presenting the idea of rebranding IMS to the students. Time was given for students in small groups to give feedback and respond to discussion questions. We then heard a report from each of the groups about what was discussed.
Tuesday was a late start, so there was no chapel.
On Wednesday, area pastors were invited to come for a Clergy Appreciation Day. Our chapel that day was in honor of our pastors. A video was shown of students responding to questions about their pastors, and then each pastor shared about a typical day for them. A prayer of blessing closed our time in chapel.
As part of Red Ribbon week, Thursday’s chapel featured Jay Strickland, principal at Mid-Prairie High School. Jay shared about the dangers of electronic cigarettes for teens. He challenged some of the myths that there are about e-cigarettes with facts from his research.
Our chapel week concluded with speaker Jeff Polen from Apple Creek, Ohio. Jeff shared about how being involved in Jesus’ great commission is the way to have an exciting and fulfilling Christian life.
