IMS played Louisa-Muscatine Monday night at IMS. IMS scored 2 runs in the bottom of the first to take an early 2-0 lead. Louisa-Muscatine Scored one run in the second and one run in the third inning to tie the game. IMS responded with 5 runs in the bottom of the third inning, highlighted by a bases-clearing double by Reggie Borntrager. IMS got an RBI single from Jacob Boller in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 8-3 after 4 innings of play. L-M scored one more run in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 8-4 before the game was called for weather. Trevor Leyden got the win on the mound for IMS. Cole Ours, London Schrock, and Reggie Borntrager all had doubles for IMS, and Eli Ours had 2 hits for IMS.

IMS played a varsity doubleheader at Lone Tree on Friday evening. In game one IMS scored 4 runs in the first inning, getting three runs on a two-out double by Blake Bontrager, giving IMS a 4-1 lead after one inning. Neither team was able to score until Reggie Borntrager connected for a solo homerun in the sixth inning extending IMS’ lead to 5-1. IMS would go on to win the game 5-1. Blake Bontrager got the win on the mound for IMS allowing just 2 hits and striking out 7 Lone Tree batters. In game two Lone Tree scored first getting one run in the first inning. IMS broke through on the scoreboard in the third inning, scoring 4 runs to make the score 4-1 in favor of IMS. Both teams were held scoreless the rest of the game giving IMS the 4-1 victory to complete the doubleheader sweep of Lone Tree. Drew Blauvelt got the win on the mound allowing just 2 hits while striking out 8 Lion batters.

IMS hosted the IMS Classic Saturday playing Danville in the first game. IMS batted through the line-up in the first inning scoring five runs on five hits. IMS added 3 more runs in the third inning before scoring 9 more runs in the fourth inning to win the game 17-2 in four innings. Isaiah Swantz pitched all four innings on the mound for IMS getting the win. Eli Ours, London Schrock, Isaiah Swantz, and Blake Bontrager all had 2 hits in the game for IMS.

IMS played Keokuk in the last game of the day. The game remained a pitchers dual until IMS broke through for 5 runs in the fifth inning. Cole Ours and Trevor Leyden had back to back 2 RBI singles in the inning, and Jacob Boller added an RBI single. IMS went on to win the game 5-0. Eighth-grader Noah Miller got the start on the mound for IMS pitching 6 innings allowing just one hit while earning his first career win. IMS is now 11-6 on the season and will have another busy week coming up.
