Thursday, November 20th was the day for Lee Ebersole’s Christianity in the World Arena class to do some visiting. Part of the purpose of the class is to learn about the main world religions, and so the trip provided the opportunity for students to have some face to face interaction with persons of some of those religions. The Agudas Achim Synagogue, the Iowa City Zen Center and the Iowa City Mosque were the destinations of the day. During each visit, there was a time of input from the representative of each place and then a time for questions from the class.

“Our interaction with leaders from these three religions gave us a chance to hear directly about Judaism, Buddhism and Islam.” commented Lee Ebersole, instructor. “I want the students to learn from both what we read and also learn through direct conversation with people of those religions.”
