This year’s annual Junior-Senior Banquet took attendees far from the fields surrounding IMS, to the quaint streets of old Paris. Spending Friday night staging the ambiance, the junior class members and parents worked hanging lights and black plastic, building store fronts, setting tables, and constructing the Eiffel Tower, all to create a cozy place to mingle and dine.
Saturday night brought attendees in various forms of
transportation such as a white horse-drawn carriage, a half-car, limousines, semi trucks, and miniature motorcycles. Following hors d’voeuvres in the foyer and mass photo sessions outside, attendees were escorted to their respective tables to enjoy a meal served by the sophomore wait staff. A spirited game of Jr vs Sr Family Feud, complete with prizes and homemade commercials, rounded out the formal part of the evening.
Later, the after-banquet party commenced at Colonial Lanes. Scott Miller taped the arrival of students at IMS and this video was shown in the coffee lounge where cappucinos and smoothies were enjoyed. There was unlimited bowling, putt-putt golf and pool as well as the popular “cash cube” (compliments of Hills Bank), where students attempted to catch the $1 bills. A breakfast at Village Inn ended the event in the early morning hours.
