On Tuesday, the Compassion Club held its third work time for sewing bags for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) school kits. Their goal is to make 62 bags which will hold the school supplies they have. This is just one activity that the club does throughout the year.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center received 35 units today at the blood drive sponsored by the Compassion Club. Fourteen students gave blood, ten of them for the first time. Thanks to local Mennonite churches and the student body, 256 pairs were collected and will be taken to Brighton Collectibles in Des Moines. Today students were invited to decorate cookies to take to residents at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona. Compassion members baked the cookies at home and then students decorated them today during their noon hour.
