The Academic and Fine Arts Awards Night took place in Celebration Hall last evening (May 8). This night recognizes the accomplishments of students who have excelled in academics, music, drama and art. It also recognizes students who have been of service to others through Peer Tutoring and Compassion Club. Scholarships are also awarded to IMS juniors to be used for their entry fee for the 2012-13 school year and a Freshman Alumni Scholarship is given to an incoming 9th grade student of an IMS alumni. The new National Honor Society members were inducted and together with the other members from last year hosted the evening. For a complete listing of all the awards click here.

Thirty units of blood were given at the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center blood drive sponsored by the National Honor Society. Many students, staff and community members donated to this life-giving event. The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center supplies almost 50% of the blood to the University of Iowa Hospital as well as other regional hospitals.  Each unit of blood saves three lives.

Blood drive on October 31st

The IMS chapter of the National Honor Society is hosting a blood drive on Monday, October 31, 7:30-11:30 am. Plan now to donate blood by scheduling a donation time through the IMS office by calling 319.656.2073 or 319.683.2586.

The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center spent the morning at IMS collecting 41 units of blood from our IMS staff, students, parents and neighbors.  The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood center supplies almost 50% of the blood to the University of Iowa Hospital as well as other regional hospitals.  Each unit of blood saves three lives.

This annual event was hosted by the IMS National Honor Society.

National Honor Society is sponsoring blood drive

The National Honor Society of IMS is sponsoring the annual blood drive for Friday, October 1st. Please consider donating your live-saving blood to this worthy cause. Come to the IMS gym between 7:30 am and 11:30 am. Please call the IMS office (683.2586 or 656.2073) to reserve a time.
