We had a great day for ‘Bring a Friend Day’ yesterday! We had 40 kids from 6 different schools visiting their friends at IMS. Students and their friends attended classes and chapel, ate lunch and did activities outside during study hall. Nancy and Rachel Miller helped with activities in the morning and Steve Nelson came in the afternoon to teach us a new, fun game – Slag Ball.
Some classes were almost double their normal size for the day. A few teachers said our students had a little more energy than usual but they were still respectful and they were able to accomplish some work for the day. Chorale and 7th period study hall had the most guest students at once.
Breana Stout, a freshman at IMS, brought two friends for the day. She said she loved the day. Breana was glad her friends could come and see what her school was like so they would understand why she chose to come to IMS. Her friends said they had a great time and were glad they came.
Director of Enrollment, Candi Schmieder, enjoyed the day as well. “It was really fun seeing this many kids at school,” she said. “I hope we are able to make this an annual event. Celebrating our friendships is important in being part of our greater community.” Thanks to all the IMS kids who brought friends and to all the friends who came. Our day was enriched by spending it together!
