2012 National Capability Challenge

Three Accounting students participated in the 2012 National Capability Challenge. All three of them scored in the top 20th percentile of students nationwide. Their names will be added to a random drawing for one of twenty $1,000 scholarships to be announced in May.

Accounting students visited the Kalona Coffee House where Rhonda Yoder told them about starting a business and the skills that are needed to be a successful entrepreneur.

Accounting students have fun learning Excel!

The Accounting students are learning how to navigate an electronic spreadsheet (Excel) by making graphs and charts using M&Ms.  Each student made a variety of graphs, charts and reports based on their individual bag of M&Ms.  They also learned how these reports would be used in every day businesses.  Each bag of M&M’s resulted in an average of 112.5 pieces of candy and the evidence was promptly eaten at the end of the class.
