L&M Wins in Early Game

IMS struggled to keep their defense in check as they were defeated by a strong L&M team, 13-0. L&M scored only one run in the first inning, but batted through the lineup in the second inning to score 10 runs. IMS committed 3 errors in the second and 5 errors overall. Isabel True was the winning pitcher for L&M. Hannah Harris took the loss, allowing 6 hits and 13 runs while striking out 1.

June 23rd @ IMS

IMS 1, Danville 13

Danville scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first, 2 runs in the second, and 1 run in the third to capture a 13-1 win over IMS in the opening game of the IMS Classic on Saturday. IMS’s sole run came in the top of the third when Suzanna Yoder doubled to centerfield, Rubye Ney singled on a line drive to shortstop, and Avery Blauvelt singled to left field, scoring Yoder. Blauvelt and Yoder pitched for IMS, allowing 13 runs on 10 hits. Blauvelt took the loss.

IMS 11, Columbus Junction 12

IMS lost the lead late in a 12-11 defeat to Columbus on Saturday. The game was tied at nine with Columbus batting in the top of the fifth when a run scored on a fielder’s choice. IMS collected 12 hits in the game. Rubye Ney went 4-4 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Suzanna Yoder went 3-4 with 3 runs scored. Avery Blauvelt went 2-4 with 3 RBI. Ney, Blauvelt and Mia Graber all doubled. Yoder and Leah Bontrager pitched for IMS. Yoder took the loss, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out one.
