Levi Geyer and Suzanna Yoder each qualified to compete at the state track and field championships in two events. Geyer automatically qualified in the 3200 meter run by winning the event at the state qualifier meet Thursday night. He also qualified in the 1600 meter run based on his time of 4:47.58 that he ran to place second. This was one of the top fourteen times of finishers across the state who did not win at one of the ten qualifier meets.
Suzanna Yoder’s time of 1:02.25 in the 400 meter dash qualified her based on performance. She was second place at the qualifier meet. Her fifth place finish in the 100 meter dash also qualified her for the state meet based on her time of 13.32.
The boys 3200 meter run, 100 meter dash preliminaries and 400 meter dash final will all be competed at Drake stadium Thursday May 17. The 100 meter dash finals and 1600 meter run will be competed Saturday May 19.
