Four Earn All-Conference Honors

Suzanna Yoder

Four IMS players were selected by the Southeast Iowa Super Conference for all-conference honors.

Junior co-captain Suzanna Yoder earned first team all-conference after leading the conference in scoring at 22.2 points per game.  Yoder’s scoring average was best in class 1A and ninth best across all classes state-wide.  She finishes the season sixth in the conference with 3.7 assists per game and tenth in steals with 2.5 per game.

Senior co-captain Alyssa Hershberger earned second team all-conference honors averaging 8.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

Seniors Avery Blauvelt and Payton Hart were honorable mention.

“It’s always nice to see your kids get recognized for their hard work and dedication,” IMS head coach Kari Heusinkveld said.  “Suzanna obviously had a great season for us and carried much of the load offensively.  Hersh did a nice job of stepping up and scoring with more consistency this season and she was aggressive on the glass.  Avery and Payton brought so much to this team that doesn’t always show up on the stat sheet but is needed to be successful.  They helped elevate our level of play during practices and games, took care of tough defensive assignments and set the bar high for work ethic.”

IMS finishes the season at 5-17 after a loss in the Regional Semi-Finals.
