Our chapel theme for this week and next is “Worship is Reflecting”. The season of Lent is a time in which Christians are encouraged to reflect on or think about their relationship with God, especially to see if there are any hindrances to that relationships in our lives.
Monday’s chapel started us off on the theme of Reflecting with some comments about Lent and a video about how one might participate in fasting in a meaningful way during Lent.
On Wednesday, we did not have chapel in lieu of an assembly with a Johnson County detective named Brad Kunkel. Brad talked about how to stay safe using the internet and social media.
Thursday’s chapel featured Gerry Partridge, a former prosecuting attorney of Washington County. Gerry told how he came to faith from a non-religious background. Gerry attends First Mennonite Church in Iowa City.
The IMS Praise Band wrapped up our week of chapels by leading us in a music chapel.
