Kyle Miller, class of 2011, recently visited the Ag Business class to discuss his work with drones and agriculture. Kyle has spent the last two years working for dronedeploy.com. They work in the field of agriculture and construction helping farmers analyze maps, including elevation mapping which can tell a farmer precisely where to place drainage tile, plant health mapping that measures reflectivity and can tell you where your crops are under-performing, and 3-D maps that can measure the volume of a pile of corn (telling you how many bushels are in the pile) down to an accuracy of two inches.
It was a very informative class. Thank you Kyle!
