This week chapel was based on the theme “Worship is Physical Activity.”
Chapel on Monday featured the representatives of five Mennonite Colleges and Universities from Bethel College, Bluffton University, Eastern Mennonite University, Goshen College and Hesston College. The representatives were on campus Monday and Tuesday to talk with students who are interested in exploring what these colleges and universities have to offer.
Tuesday was our meeting in small groups. Groups are encouraged to spend time getting to know others in the group and to discuss the chapel theme of the week.
Wednesday’s chapel was worshipping with the Ugandan Thunder choir. The choir is made up of children from Uganda who are touring in the United States for a year. They were doing several programs in the area, and we were fortunate to be able to host them as they were on their way from Mount Pleasant to Cedar Rapids. Their energy in their singing and dancing was contagious!
On Thursday, we enjoyed a skit written by a student based on the life of Samson and how his physical strength was a gift from God. Students acted out the parts as the skit was narrated.
Friday’s chapel was a scavenger hunt that gave us the opportunity to actively explore the out of doors. We concluded by singing “Come Walk With Us”.
