Last Wednesday was a great day to welcome our students to campus! We started the morning with an assembly led by the principal, Steve Schrag. Students filled the halls with talking and laughter as friends were together again at school. They also did a great job of helping our new students find their way to classes.
Steve introduced the school theme of the year to the student body. The theme chosen for this year is “Come and Worship.” This invitation is open to all that seek the love of Christ and want to participate in the various styles of how we come to God. When we worship, we worship together. It does not matter if it is through song, through physical activity, through spoken word or silent prayer – all are forms of worship. When we invite others to join us in worship, we are inviting God to enter our hearts. Our hope for the year is that all our students will join us as we “Come and Worship” with one another.
Based off of the school theme, the Chapel Committee introduced the chapel theme for the year, “Worship Is…” They will work with the many aspects of what worship is and the many ways we worship God. Chapel closed with a prayer to start the new year. We look forward to a great 2017-18 school year together!
