IMS 1 Lone Tree 2

After finishing their game with Louisa-Muscatine last Friday, June 16th, IMS then traveled to Lone Tree to face the Lions. Lone Tree scored 1 run in the 3rd inning and 1 run in the 4th inning to take a 2-0 lead. IMS came back and scored 1 run in the top of the 5th inning on a RBI double by Drake Brezina. The score remained there the rest of the game giving the Lions the 2-1 win. Blake Bontrager took the loss on the mound pitching 6 innings allowing 2 runs on just 2 hits. Brezina, Nick Yutzy, Blake Bontrager, Caleb Yoder, and Isaiah Swantz all had hits for IMS. “Blake pitched an outstanding game for us tonight only giving up 2 hits, our offense had opportunities to score throughout the game, unfortunately we were only able to get the one run in the 5th inning,” said Coach Danny Hershberger. IMS finished the week with an overall record of 6-5 on the season and will play at Cardinal of Eldon on Monday before returning home to play Danville on Tuesday at IMS.
