IMS Baseball wins over Louisa-Muscatine

IMS 4 Louisa-Muscatine 3

IMS played at home against Louisa-Muscatine last Thursday night. IMS got on the board first scoring one run in the third inning to take a 1-0 lead. Louisa-Muscatine came back in the top of the fourth inning to take a 2-1 lead. IMS would come back in the bottom of the 5th inning as Cole Yoder and Reggie Borntrager both drew bases loaded walks to give IMS a 3-2 lead after 5 innings of play. Louisa-Muscatine was able to tie the score at 3 in the top of the seventh inning. With 2 outs and nobody on base in the bottom of the seventh inning the game was postponed due to lightning. The game was not able to be finished until early Friday afternoon. When the game resumed in the bottom of the seventh, IMS got back to back hits by Drake Brezina and Cambridge Hathaway. Brezina then scored the winning run on a dropped fly ball giving IMS the 4-3 win. Cole Yoder pitched 6 ⅓ innings for IMS allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Reggie Borntrager got the win on the mound for IMS recording the final 2 outs of the seventh inning.
