IMS Baseball falls to New London

IMS started a busy week last Monday hosting New London. New London scored two early runs to take a 2-0 lead after 1 inning of play. IMS came back in the 2nd inning as Caleb Yoder got the offense going with a 2 out base hit. Blake Bontrager followed with a base hit. Trevor Leyden and Cole Ours each had RBI base hits to follow to tie the score 2-2 after 2 innings of play. After the second inning a pitcher’s duel  took over as neither team was able to score until New London got a 2 out RBI double in the top of the seventh inning to take a 3-2 lead. The IMS hitters were not able to score in the bottom of the inning giving New London the 3-2 win. IMS got a great pitching effort from Caleb Yoder. Yoder pitched 6 innings allowing just 2 runs and 6 hits. Cole Ours and Caleb Yoder each had 2 hits for IMS. Drake Brezina, Reggie Borntrager, Noah Bruns, Blake Bontrager, and Trevor Leyden all had a hit in the game for IMS. “Caleb pitched a great game for us tonight giving us a chance to win, and we had opportunities to score but were unable to bring guys into score once they were on base,” said Coach Danny Hershberger.
