Track meet at Williamsburg

The Iowa Mennonite girls track and field team opened their outdoor season Tuesday April 4 at the Raider Invite in Williamsburg.  Weather conditions forced a cancellation last Thursday at Danville and a one-day postponement of the Raider Invite.  Nine athletes represented Iowa Mennonite scoring ten team points.  Meet highlights include Calli Shaw’s fifth place in the 400 meter dash with a near personal best time of 1:06.73.  Emma Beachy threw a season best shot put distance and placed sixth in the discus with a best throw of eighty seven feet eleven inches.  The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Sarena Gerber, Greta Schrag, Payton Hart and Avery Blauvelt ran a season best time of 13:00.33 to place seventh.
