Donors and Workers from the blood drive

Twenty-six students, faculty and staff gave blood last Thursday, March 16th at a Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center drive hosted by the Compassion Club.  Outside donors, including some parents, also gave boosting the total donations to 45 units.  Each unit can save 3-4 lives which means over 135 people can be helped.  “I’m impressed that so many students want to donate,” stated Gloria Yoder, sponsor for Compassion Club, “it’s great to try it in high school and keep giving throughout your life.”

This was Gretta Rempel's first time giving as a 16 year old. Her dad, Randy has O- blood and gives quite often since his blood type is a universal donor.
