Senior Calli Shaw signed a letter of intent last Wednesday to play softball collegiately at Northwestern College in Orange City. Calli is the daughter of Angie and Rich Shaw of Wellman and plans to study Psychology at Northwestern. A shortstop, Calli hit .431 as a junior, leading the team in hits, doubles and triples and also had two home runs.
IMS Softball Coach Kathryn Ney said, “Calli is a conscientious, hard-working athlete. She consistently arrives early for practice, stays late and seeks out ways to improve her skills. She has put herself in a position to receive this scholarship. I’m happy that her hard work is paying off as she extends her softball career to the collegiate level.”
Northwestern College Softball Coach Chris Nachtigall commented that, “We are thrilled to have Calli joining our softball program. She is a quality young lady on and off the field. We are confident she will have a positive impact on both our softball program and the NWC campus.”
