Pekin scored first in the fourth quarter and trailed just 34-29 with six minutes to play. Coach Dwight Gingerich said, “I was happy to see us put it together in the third quarter and then again in the fourth period. This was a different game, as we had some strange injuries and untimely fouls to complicate things. Isaiah Swantz gave us a strong couple minutes in his first varsity action, and we really needed that at the time, as Cole Yoder was in serious foul trouble and Mitchell was out with the trainer. A win over Pekin is always hard to come by, so this was a great effort by our guys to push through and make plays down the stretch.”
