English II students

Eng 1After reading and analyzing Sylvia Plath’s poem “Words,” sophomores in composition class sorted the words of the poem into grammatical categories and made observations, before drawing conclusions.

The students noted Plath’s use of concrete nouns, vivid verbs, and carefully chosen adjectives to create powerful images regarding the impact of words on a life.

This week they attempt to create power in their own writing using the insights they gained from the poem.
