June 14 IMS 0 New London 8
The IMS softball team traveled to New London for their sixth game of the season. Hannah Harris took the 0-8 loss, but Coach Kathryn Ney saw some positive things throughout the game. “Without a doubt we faced the toughest pitcher we’ve seen so far this season. Morgan Christner just got her 100th high school win a few days ago and has signed to play at Illinois State. We had several strikeouts and it was an exceptionally hot day, but we took the game the entire seven innings. It was encouraging to see the girls work to get runners on even in our last at-bat.” Rubye Ney and Jess Bender each singled for IMS’s lone hits of the night.
New London won the JV game 3-2. Joya Schrock and Rachel Miller pitched.
