Baseball wins big at Columbus Tuesday

IMS played at Columbus Tuesday night winning the game 18-4 in five innings. Nick Yutzy scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning on a RBI single by Drake Brezina to give IMS an early 1-0 lead. IMS added three runs in the third and fourth innings to take a 7-0 lead. Columbus came back with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 7-4. The IMS offense came alive in the top of the fifth inning scoring 11 runs highlighted by a two RBI double by Justin Litwiller. IMS held the Wildcats scoreless in the bottom of the inning to win the game 18-4.

Cole Yoder pitched all five innings for IMS striking out six hitters. Justin Litwiller led IMS at the plate with five RBI. Drake Brezina went 2-3 at the plate and scored three runs, Noah Bruns had a hit and scored four runs for IMS. Jacob Schmieder, Blake Bontrager, and Cole Ours also had hits for IMS.
