Baseball takes two losses on the road this week

IMS 5 Central Lee 15

IMS played at Central Lee Monday night. Central built an early 9-0 lead after two innings of play before adding three more runs to make the score 12-0 after four innings. IMS got on the board in the top of the fifth inning when Drake Brezina sent a ball over the fence in left field for a two run homerun. Reggie Borntrager followed with a double and later scored on a RBI single by Timothy Bender making the score 12-3. IMS scored two more runs in the sixth inning on a two RBI single by Cole Ours before Central Lee added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game with a final score of 5-15. Noah Bruns, Jacob Schmieder, and Justin Litwiller also had hits for IMS.

 

IMS 2 Winfield-Mt. Union 12

IMS traveled to Winfield Tuesday night to play the Wolves. WMU scored four runs in the first, one run in the second, and four more runs in the third inning to build a 9-0 lead. In the top of the fifth inning Noah Bruns and Drake Brezina scored on a two RBI single by Jacob Schmieder. WMU was able to push three more runs across the plate in the bottom of the inning to end the game with a final score of 12-2. Cole Ours, Drake Brezina, Jacob Schmieder, and Justin Litwiller had hits for IMS. IMS falls to 6-11 on the year and will play at home Thursday and Friday night against Van Buren and Wapello to finish the week.

At Friday’s home game the five seniors and their parents will be honored.
