IMS played at home against Burlington Notre Dame Monday night. We got on the board early as Drake Brezina scored on an error by the Notre Dame second baseman to give IMS and early 1-0 lead. The Nikes came back with two runs in the third inning and one run in the fifth inning to take a 3-1 lead. We loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning but was only able to plate one run when Justin Litwiller was hit by a pitch making the score 2-3 in favor of the Nikes. Notre Dame threatened to score in the sixth and seventh innings but IMS made great defensive plays and got two big strikeouts by relief pitcher Reggie Borntrager to keep the score a one run game. We were unable to score after getting a runner on base in the seventh inning ending the game with a final score of IMS 2 and Notre Dame 3.

IMS falls to 1-2 on the year and will play at Columbus Tuesday night before returning home Wednesday against Lone Tree.
