IMS 2 New London 9

IMS played at New London Tuesday evening falling 2-9. New London got out to an early 3-0 start before IMS scored two runs in the third inning on RBI hits by Drake Brezina and Tobyn Bender to make the score 2-3. IMS could not get any more offense going and the Tigers were able to add five runs in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth to take the win 9-2.

 

IMS 5 West Branch 6

IMS got on the scoreboard first with two runs in the second inning on RBIs by Reggie Borntrager and Nick Yutzy. West Branch scored one run in the 4th inning to make the score 2-1 in favor of IMS. IMS responded with two runs in the fifth inning highlighted by a RBI single by Tobyn Bender. The Bears were able to score two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to make the score 4-3. IMS scored another run in the top of the seventh inning to take a 5-3 lead. West Branch loaded the bases with on one out in the bottom of the inning eventually scoring 2 runs to tie the game and send the game into extra innings. West Branch scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning to end the game with a final score of 6-5. Tobyn Bender led IMS offensively going 2-2 with a RBI. Reggie Borntrager also had two hits for IMS.

 

IMS 12 Pekin 15

IMS played Pekin Thursday night in a high scoring game. Pekin got out to an early 3-0 lead after a three run homerun in the top of the first inning. IMS scored one run in the first and four more runs in the second inning to take a 5-3 lead. Pekin scored two more runs in the third inning before IMS answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to make the score 7-5 after three innings of play. Pekin benefited from four IMS errors in the fifth inning to score five runs and take a 10-7 lead. IMS got one run back in the bottom of the inning on a RBI single by Noah Bruns. Pekin came back with three runs in the sixth, and again IMS got one run in the bottom of the inning. This time on a solo home run by Reggie Borntrager. Pekin scored two more runs in the 7th inning to take a 15-9 lead heading into the bottom of the last inning. Cole Ours led off the inning with a single and after a walk and a hit by Drake Brezina IMS loaded the bases with one out. Tobyn Bender followed with a RBI single. Reggie Borntrager came to the plate next and hit a two RBI single to make the score 12-15. IMS was able to load the bases again before a strikeout ended the game with Pekin escaping with a 15-12 win. Reggie Borntrager, Drake Brezina, Tobyn Bender, Jacob Schmider, and Cole Ours all had two hits for IMS.

 

IMS 2 Louisa-Muscatine 5

IMS played at Louisa-Muscatine Friday night. The Falcons scored three runs in the 2nd inning to take a 3-0 lead. Cole Ours scored for IMS in the third inning on a Drake Brezina RBI single to make the score 3-1. Louisa-Muscatine added 2 more runs in the third inning to build a 5-1 lead. In the seventh inning Justin Litwiller started the inning off with a double followed by a single from Cole Ours and a RBI single from Nick Yutzy, but that was all the offense for IMS in the inning making the final score 5-2. Nick Yutzy and Cole Ours both had two hits for IMS. Jacob Schmider, Drake Brezina, and Justin Litwiller also had hits for IMS. IMS is 3-7 on the season heading into their next game Tuesday night at home against Cardinal.
