IMS 1, Danville 3

Facing #10 ranked Danville, IMS held their own in the first half but fell short in the second half. The first half ended 0-0 after the majority of play took place in the middle third of the field and both teams struggled to create good chances.

In the second half Danville took advantage of an errant clearance to notch the first goal of the game 11 minutes into the half. The IMS backline held strong but gave up a second goal after a direct kick with six minutes remaining in the half. Danville continued pushing and was able to get their third goal with a little over a minute remaining. The young IMS team continued pressing and was able to get on the scoreboard when Cole Ours sent a ball over the top where Isaiah Swantz outran the defender, sidestepped the charging goalie and slotted the ball into the net with less than a minute on the clock.

IMS drops to 5-6 overall and 5-3 in the conference. IMS hosts West Liberty Saturday morning with the varsity scheduled to begin at 9:30 am.
