Saturday, Nov 22, the Yoder Auction Building in Frytown was buzzing with activity as 16 teams of 12 people from our local community packed over 27,500 meals to be distributed by “Kids Against Hunger” in Liberia for those infected with the Ebola virus. The ten Compassion Club members pictured above plus Breana’s brother, Brant, and advisor Gloria Yoder, worked a shift from 10 – 11 am. measuring, weighing, and sealing bags of rice, dried vegetables, vitamins, minerals, and chicken flavoring that results in a well balanced meal providing all nine essential amino acids required for complete nutrition. One day each month students and staff are allowed to pay $2 to “ditch the dress code”. The money raised from the November day went towards paying for some of these meals.
