Golf teams compete

The boys and girls golf teams were in action on the start of a busy week and had some fantastic individual performances. Monday sent the teams to Cedarcrest Country Club in a dual with Louisa-Muscatine. The girls lost a close one 222-213, while Breana Stout was medalist with a personal best of 47. Tanner Leyden again led the boys with a fantastic 41. The boys lost by a score of 211-169. L&M’s Jake Bloomer was medalist with a 37.

On Tuesday the boys competed at the Mid-Prairie Invitational finishing 8th of 9 teams with an 18 hole score of 444. Windy conditions with firm and fast greens led to difficult scoring. Ben Miller continued his improving play and led IMS with a 103. Mount Vernon won the meet with a 331 and Jace Koenig of Durant won his 3rd consecutive Mid-Prairie Invite title with a stellar 74.

IMS boys compete again on Thursday at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course in Fort Madison for the SEISC Conference Tournament and the girls will do the same on Monday, May 12.
