The themes for these weeks of Chapel intersected, and were I AM Filled and I AM Set Free…
Monday: Timothy Bender introduced the weeks theme, asking students to consider what comes to mind when they think about being filled…maybe filling their gas tank or maybe eating a lot of food. Timothy challenged students to think about what they are allowing themselves to be filled with–is it God’s Word and things that encourage us in our faith or things that pull us further from our relationship with Christ? Following Timothy’s sharing, Jacob Bruns led a small group object lesson symbolizing Christ in our lives.

Wednesday: Sam Shield, Family Pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Washington, shared from John 8:30-32 about being set free from sin and encouraging students to remember that freedom isn’t free–someone pays for it, and we are freed from sin because Jesus paid the price for us. Because of grace given us (Ephesians 2:8-9), we are set free from the bondage of sin and as a result of that, we are called to share the Gospel with those we meet.
