Chapel Wrap-Up {September 9-13}

This week’s chapel theme was continued from last week, I AM Privileged.

Monday: Since we are privileged to enjoy Chapel time at IMS each day, students were given tips on the DO’s and DON’TS of chapel etiquette demonstrated through student skits.

Tuesday: No Chapel, In-Service

Wednesday: Privileged Posters…In small groups, students and faculty members made posters about privilege. They later noticed that some groups were given meager supplies of pencils and white paper while others received markers, stickers, stencils, glitter and colorful posterboard. When presenting the posters, the idea that the competition wasn’t fair was obvious. Students were challenged to consider others’ resouces and  circumstance before judging them.

Thursday: Privileged Trivia Game

Friday: Anthony Brown and Ken Rogers shared through story and music about Social Justice, Peace and History. Recent IMS graduate and now Hesston College student, Mischa de Jesus also sang with Tony. This gave students a preview of Tony’s singing voice, giving them reason to want to hear more! Make sure to come and see the performance here on Saturday night…you don’t want to miss it!
