35th Annual Tractor Driving Contest

The 35th Annual Iowa Mennonite FFA Tractor Driving Contest took place today at the Lower Deer Creek parking lot across from the school. The Tractor Driving Contest is designed for students to demonstrate their abilities to operate tractors safely. It included a written exam, a troubleshooting section, obstacle course and backing a trailer into a barn. IMS FFA rules state that you can win only one trophy per competition. Senior Brent Brenneman took first followed by senior Reggie Hostetler in second and junior Michael Hershberger in third. The contest also included a garden tractor competition that was won by sophomore Justin Litwiller.

The Iowa Mennonite FFA would like to thank our judges, Derek Bontrager, Chase Gingerich, Michael Leichty, Atlee Yoder and Brian Yoder for taking time out of their day to help with the contest. Thanks to individuals and businesses for providing equipment, labor or money: Beatty-Peterseim Funeral and Monument Service, BT Farms, Inc. (Brent & Tara Yoder), Farmers Supply Sales Inc., Fulton Insurance, Helmuth Repair, Inc., Kalona Veterinary Clinic, Morning Sun Farm Implement, Pro Grower Solutions (Terry Erb),  and Twin County Dairy.
