Baseball takes win at Columbus

The IMS bats came alive in the second inning sending 13 batters to the plate and scoring eight runs in the inning to take the lead 8-3 after two innings of play. IMS added two runs in the 3rd, two in the 4th, and three in the 5th to make the final score 15-3 in five innings.

Tanner Leyden led the IMS attack going three for four with two RBIs. Reggie Hostetler had two RBIs and scored two runs, Brent Brenneman had two hits, and Cameron Gingerich had a double and scored three runs. Dallas Nye got the win on the mound pitching all five innings while striking out 12 batters.

“We started slow in the first inning, then we came alive after giving up three runs in the first to them. Tonight was a solid win for us to start the week,” said Coach Danny Hershberger.

IMS is 3-1 on the season and will next play Tuesday night at Winfield Mt. Union.
