IMS made the long trek to West Point to take on the Holy Trinity Crusaders, a team which is always competitive and a challenge to play. Tuesday night was no different as both teams worked to possess the ball and create scoring opportunities. Rising to the challenge of Trinity’s long direct balls to their speedy forwards, central defenders Justin Boller and Cody Miller along with Kirby Shetler and Michael Hershberger shut down Trinity’s scoring chances until just before half when Trinity sneaked one by the IMS goalie.
In the second half IMS continued to create good scoring chances but failed to get any by the stingy Trinity goalie. Midfielder Peyton Thompson played a strong game both defensively and offensively as he exerted control over the middle of the field. Pushing forward, Trinity scored ten minutes into the second half to take the 2-0 lead.
With the loss IMS drops to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. IMS next hosts Burlington Notre Dame Thursday at 6:00 pm.
