Girls looked strong at the SEISC Shoot-Out

IMS met up with West Burlington from the SEISC south division on Friday night for the conference shoot out and came away with a 69-39 win. IMS led 16-6 after a period and stretched their lead to 44-14 at the half. IMS continued their strong play in the second half and led 60-20 at the end of three quarters.

Olivia Yutzy led the IMS charge, finishing with a career high 28 points on 11-21 shooting from the field. Yutzy also pulled down a team high 11 rebounds. Kristin Davis put in 21 points which included five three pointers.  Davis also handed out five assists and had six steals on the night. Demi Brezina sparked IMS off the bench scoring ten points including a triple. Riley Schmieder finished with seven points and Hannah Miller rounded out the scoring with five points. Miller led IMS with six assists. Schmieder, Brezina and Miller each had four steals. 
Aaron Gingerich commented, “We came ready to play. Our focus was where it needs to be as we get ready for the tournament. I thought we had many girls step up their defensive intensity which set the tone for the game.”
IMS finishes the regular season at 8-13 and will play Keota in the first round of regional play on Thursday at Keota at 7:00 pm.
