IMS went on the road Friday for the second straight night and came away with a 39-36 win over Louisa Muscatine.  IMS led 11-6 after a quarter, and 17-15 at the half.  A couple Riley Schmieder jumpers sparked a 15-6 third quarter run, giving IMS a 32-21 lead heading into the final period.  In the fourth IMS led by seven with just over a minute to play when Louisa Muscatine put in a three to cut the lead to 38-34.  After a couple IMS misses from the line, Louisa Muscatine cut the lead to two on a turn around jumper with sixteen seconds to play. On the ensuing possession IMS was able to use a little clock and Hannah Gingerich was fouled with seven seconds remaining.  Gingerich hit the first of two free throws giving IMS a 3 point lead.  A last second desperation shot from Louisa Muscatine was off, and IMS escaped with the win.

IMS was led by Kristin Davis who scored 13 points and handed out three assists.  Riley Schmieder had eight points and four rebounds.  Demi Brezina knocked in a three and a layup to finish with five points.  Olivia Yutzy finished with four points, Hannah Gingerich and Cassidy Bontrager each had three, Hannah Miller scored two points, and Anya Slaughbaugh completed the scoring with a point. Yutzy led IMS with five steals.

Coach Aaron Gingerich commented “Tonight was a team effort.  We had many girls step up and make plays for us.  It was good to see some offensive balance as eight girls got into the scoring column.”

IMS moves to 4-9 on the season and next plays Tuesday at Highland.
