IMS defeated a scrappy Keota team in five games with scores of 22-25, 17-25, 25-17, 25-17,15-11. “I am very proud of this team for rallying back after getting down two games.  We started out too flat and things just didn’t feel right.  However, we found the strength to come back through our defensive strategies which has held us all season,” Coach Cindy Miller said.  Sparks of defensive plays from Casey Perez, Kristin Davis, Naomi Miller and Laura Hochstetler started to ignite our offense.  In game four, Olivia Yutzy found a weakness in Keota’s defense down the sideline earning her 12 of her 28 kills of the night.  Casey Perez returned to the court from her knee injury two matches ago and served a spotless 22-22 with three aces combined with her 41 assists.   Coach Miller commented, “I am hoping we can build off the success from those last three games and our past experience this season to guide us through the next match.”

IMS plays Belle Plaine at Victor on Friday, October 26, starting at 7:00 pm.
