Conversations and Coffee—October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at Panera Bread, Sycamore Mall, Iowa City, IA.  Anyone who is interested in learning more about Iowa Mennonite School is invited to come and hear IMS alumni, Adam and Brigette Ingersoll, share their experiences about attending IMS. Director of Enrollment, Candi Schmieder, will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have about IMS.

About Adam & Brigette…They are both 1993 IMS grads.  Brigette is a Kalona native and daughter of Muriel and Wendell Nisly.  Adam grew up in Peoria, IL and attended IMS in 11th and 12th grade as a boarding student.  Brigette excelled academically and was admitted to numerous top colleges, enrolling at Northwestern in Chicago before transferring to USC in Los Angeles where she ultimately earned a doctorate in Occupational Therapy.  She practiced O.T. for years and taught college classes at USC before becoming a stay-at-home mom in 2007.  Adam was a member of the IMS ’91-’92 state champion basketball team and attended USC from ’93-’97 where he managed to earn a spot on the basketball team as a walk-on despite being undoubtedly the least talented player in the entire Pac-10 conference (Adam’s words, not mine).  Adam is an entrepreneur with business interests in Iowa and California.  In 2004 he co-founded and still owns one of California’s largest private education companies providing services to students aspiring to attend selective colleges. He also co-founded and now serves as a senior vice-president of a technology start-up that was recently acquired by a public company.  Adam and Brigette recently relocated from Los Angeles to Iowa City so they could raise their kids – ages 7, 5, 5, and 3 – close to their extended families and the IMS community.
