IMS traveled to West Burlington to play in the finals of the SEISC volleyball tournament on Saturday. IMS played #2 rated Holy Trinity in the first game and lost 20-25, 12-25. Coach Cindy Miller commented on the game. “Everyone played at their best and that’s what we’ve come to expect from each other. Blockers Anya Slabaugh and McKayla Brush were getting a few hands on the ball and our back row defense really stepped it up. Those
spikes were coming fast over the net and I thought libero Kristin Davis and Olivia Yutzy did a super job not letting many hit the floor. We only missed one serve tonight against a very good receiving team which helped us stay point for point with them until the final five points. We are one of the few teams that had taken a game from them last year, so they knew how strong we could play. The effort put forth tonight proves we are continually improving and becoming even tighter in our team unity on the court.”
IMS plays at home tonight against Louisa Muscatine starting at 5:30. Come and support your team!
