IMS finished seventh overall amongst some tough competition at the Mt. Vernon volleyball tournament on Saturday.  We lost to Center Point Urbana, Mt. Vernon, and Waterloo Columbus and defeated Mid-Prairie and Tipton.  Keilah Brokaw attempted 42 serves and earned herself five aces which was a team high for the tournament.  Coach Cindy Miller said, “I was very pleased with the serving accurancy from Laura Hochstetler and Keilah Brokaw who both only missed one serve all day. Sophomore Demi Brezina entered several games and dug up some hard driven spikes that helped us gain momentum at crucial times throughout the day.  I felt we started off the morning playing sluggish with losses to Center Point Urbana and tounament winner Mount Vernon.  However, we turned things around by playing offensively strong together against Mid-Prairie and Tipton to earn those wins.”

As a team, IMS served 92%, had 81 kills and 137 digs.  Our overall record is now 4-5.  IMS plays at home against Mediapolis on Thursday, September 6.
