The Freshman class went with principal, Tony Miller, and director of enrollment, Candi Schmieder, to Crooked Creek Christian Camp on Thursday to learn more about each other and IMS. They started the day with learning each others names by doing a wiffle ball toss. Then everyone settled down for a discussion of different policies from the IMS Student Handbook.
Next seniors, Laura Hochstetler and Cody Miller, joined the group to discuss their time at IMS. They were interviewed by Tony about different experiences they have had. It was good to hear their perspectives on classes, extra curricular activities and making the most out of their time at IMS. Laura and Cody encouraged the group to get involved with a variety of activities at school but to also know their limits and make wise choices so they can also enjoy the activities that they participate in.
After a sack lunch outside on the picnic tables, they played another game to get to know each other better. Then there was time to swim or visit by the pool. The day ended with another group activity and prayer. Members of the class shared that they are looking forward to their classes, activities, and making new friends during their time at IMS. Bus driver, Ed Miller, told the young people how impressed he was with their attentiveness and positive attitudes throughout the day. This will be a class to watch as they grow in their time at IMS!
