IMS took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first but was not able to slow down the Pekin offense which scored fifteen runs on the night. Pekin put up three runs in the first and second innings before scoring five in the third.  IMS was able to bring across a couple runs in the second and fourth innings to make it an 11-5 Pekin lead after three and a half innings of play.  Pekin scored three more in their half of the fourth and added a final run in the fifth to take a 15-5 win.

Naomi Miller, McKayla Brush, Casey Perez, and Stasia Majerick each had an RBI for IMS.  Demi Brezina, Keilah Brokaw, and Stasia Majerick each had a run scored.  McKayla Brush had two runs scored for IMS.
“We hit the ball well tonight but were not able to slow down Pekin’s offense.  We are looking forward to the start of a new season Monday against Lone Tree,” said coach Kim Wood.
With the loss IMS falls to 6-18 on the season and next plays at Lone Tree in the first round of regional play.
