IMS jumped out to an early lead scoring five runs in the first inning. IMS added a run in the second and three more runs in the third to make the score 9-2 after three innings of play.

Central Lee made a comeback in the fifth inning but pitcher Chris Perez was able to work out of the jam to preserve the lead for IMS. Perez pitched five innings giving up five runs, two earned. Reggie Hostetler pitched the final two innings allowing one run and striking out two Central Lee batters. Dallas Nye had a hit and three RBIs on the night. Zeke Nebel had a two RBI double in the first inning and Tanner Leyden had two hits with a double and an RBI.

“We came out ready to play and were able to build a lead. We lost focus on defense in the middle innings giving up a couple free runs but overall the guys played really well tonight,” said Coach Danny Hershberger.

IMS moves to 8-5 on the year and will next play at Lone Tree Friday night.
