IMS came away with their first win of the year in a 1-0 thriller against rival Lone Tree Tuesday night at IMS. The lone run of the game came in the 6th when Jacayla Litwiller doubled in Naomi Miller from second breaking the 0-0 tie. Lone Tree threatened in the 7th putting runners on second and third with nobody out but IMS was able to put an end to the threat with a timely double play, helping for an exciting 1-0 win.
Hochstetler was once again on her game, recording seven strikeouts, while giving up just two hits. IMS tallied four hits on the evening, two from each Litwiller and Miller.
Coach Kim Wood said “I am so proud of these girls for sticking together. We never got rattled when Lone Tree had runners in scoring position. Everyone stepped up defensively and we made some big plays!”
IMS moves to 1-1 on the season and next plays at home Thursday night against Tri-County.
