For the second night in a row the IMS boys and girls golf teams were able to enjoy the beautiful weather as they hosted Waco. Tanner Leyden was the medalist for the boys shooting a 51 to edge out Aaron Barnhart of Waco who shot a 52. Jordan Miller shot a 60, Zach Hill scored a 64, while Grant Schlabaugh and Randy Ropp both shot 76 to give IMS a team score of 251. That however was not enough to beat Waco’s team score of 235. For Waco Ben Fear shot a 56, Jonny McCarter shot a 63, and Dillon Douglas shot a 64. The low score on the night for the girls was Michaela Prihoda from IMS shooting a 62. Jess Miller followed with a 67, Breana Stout carded a 69 and Mischa De Jesus shot a 78 for a team score of 276. Waco only had two girl golfers on the night so they were unable to put in a team score. Bailey Graber shot a 67 and Katelyn Thompson shot a 68 for Waco.

Coach Ryan Miller commented, “The majority of the golfers were able to improve on their scores, and a couple improved by quite a bit which is always great to see. Tonight was Michaela Prihoda’s first golf meet and to see her turn in a good round and have the low score for the girls was great. Although the boys weren’t able to pull out a team win it was nice to see improvement made and to see a few areas where we can save some strokes.” Both boys and girls have a week until their next meet which is against Louisa Muscatine at Kalona on Tuesday April 10.
