IMS lost to a scrappy Columbus team Friday night at Columbus 26-46.  IMS trailed by just two after the opening period thanks to a Kristin Davis jumper as the quarter expired.  Both teams struggled to put points on the board during the second quarter and Columbus took a 19-14 lead into halftime.  IMS’ offensive struggles continued, as they could only generate twelve second half points.

Coach Aaron Gingerich said “We struggled to execute offensively against both man and zone defenses.  Columbus is a team that plays really hard and they were able to beat us to loose balls and rebounds.  When things aren’t going well for us offensively we need to win on the boards and hustle plays, and we didn’t do that.”
IMS was led by Olivia Yutzy’ eight points.  Kristin Davis had five points and Hannah Miller had four.  Riley Schmieder, Laura Yoder, Casey Perez, and Celia Hostetler all had two points.  Amber Davis rounded out the scoring with a point.
IMS falls to 3-16 on the season and next plays at home Tuesday against unbeaten Mediapolis.
