IMS trailed a hot shooting Highland squad 20-17 after one period Tuesday in Riverside, but found a better flow at both ends of the court in the second quarter to take a 45-33 lead into the locker room at intermission.  IMS got it to 69-49 after three quarters and continued to pull away from the scrappy Huskies for the 86-57 win.

Chance Miller led IMS with 26 points, including four triples and Brian Hagedorn scored 13 points.  Cameron Gingerich had 12 points and Peyton Thompson added 11.  Randy Ropp and Dallas Nye added eight points each, Joel Shetler and Dillon Bender scored three apiece, and Reggie Hostetler completed the scoring with two points.

Thompson and Gingerich had six assists each, Miller had five, and Justin Boller added three.  Hagedorn, Ropp, and Nye each had five rebounds, and Shetler grabbed three.  Miller and Gingerich had four steals each.

Coach Dwight Gingerich said, “Highland was very aggressive early and did a nice job getting into the lane off ball screen penetration.  We did a better job defending that as the game progressed, and our defense created some opportunities at the other end.  We did a better job of playing with purpose and intensity after the first quarter.”

IMS goes to 6-2 in conference play, 6-3 overall.  IMS next plays at Waco Friday.
