IMS took to the road in its last game before the holiday break and suffered a 67-61 loss to the Mediapolis Bulldogs Tuesday.  Mediapolis gained the tip and scored immediately to set the tone for the evening.  The Bulldogs raced to a 24-20 first quarter lead and then converted two free throws to walk into halftime with a 40-31 lead.

IMS trimmed the margin to 51-47 by the end of the third quarter only to see Mediapolis get it back to eight after two minutes at 57-49.  IMS again cut it to four at 60-56 with three to play, but could not take advantage of Bulldog turnovers late and then Mediapolis hit free throws down the stretch to seal it.
IMS was led by Chance Miller with 18 points and Peyton Thompson and Cameron Gingerich were right behind with 14 and 13 points, respectively.  Johnny Lackender had a team-high eight rebounds to go with seven points and Brian Hagedorn finished with six points.  Reggie Hostetler had two points and Joel Shetler hit a free throw to complete the scoring for IMS.
Coach Dwight Gingerich said “Mediapolis shot the ball really well and we didn’t defend penetration well, so that made for a tough night.  We hung in there and battled but we had too many turnovers and simply did not play as well together as we need to.  I’m pretty sure our guys want to get better, so expect we will come back after break ready to get after it.”
IMS drops to 5-2 in conference play, 5-3 overall.
